Actor-producer Kamal Haasan has now addressed the situation, assuring the public that efforts are underway to move forward with the film with Rajinikanth.

'Thalaivar 173' marks Kamal and Rajinikanth's collaboration after four decades . In a statement to the press, Kamal acknowledged the circumstances surrounding Sundar C’s exit. "Sundar C has explained the reason for his withdrawal from the project through a press release. I don’t have anything to add to it," he said, underlining his respect for the director’s decision and declining to elaborate further on the matter.
