STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — There were six reported vehicle thefts during the week of Nov. 3 through Nov. 9, according to NYPD data.
Despite the number, the amount of automobile thefts reported in the borough this year has gone down. Car thefts reported through early November dropped 31% (206 vs. 297) when compared to the same period in 2024, according to the NYPD’s latest CompStat figures.
According to the database, 2021 was the last time car thefts in the borough were this low.
The database indicates that six vehicles were stolen on Staten Island between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 — the most recent week for which statistics are available.
