In a major logistical breakthrough in Arunachal Pradesh’s high-altitude Kameng district, the Indian Army’s Gajraj Corps has put into operation an indigenous mono rail system at an elevation of 16,000 feet.
The system allows troops to transport more than 300 kg of supplies in a single run, providing a dependable lifeline to remote forward posts that lack any other mode of communication or supply.

Army officials said the mono rail has also shown promise for rapid casualty evacuation, offering a safe alternative in areas where helicopters cannot operate and foot evacuation is slow and risky.
