Mobile officials showed off a glimpse Thursday of a new Jimmy Buffett exhibition – and, with it, a look at a bright future for a museum that has struggled over its first decade.
When “Son of a Son of a Sailor: The Jimmy Buffett Experience” opens in September 2026 at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf, it’ll feature 6,000 square feet of space dedicated to Buffett’s legacy. According to Karen Poth, the museum’s director, and others, that space will be filled not just with artifacts from Buffett’s career, but with concert footage that fans might not be able to see anywhere else.
