A woman who called 911 more than an hour after two young women were murdered at a party at a Fort Erie Airbnb maintained she does not know what happened inside the house, a jury heard Thursday.
“It’s your guys job to find out what happened — not mine,” Heidi Bahler told the Crown at the double murder trial of Christopher Lucas in an Superior Court of Justice.
Twenty-seven-year-old Lucas, of Toronto, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree murder in connection to the January 2021 deaths of 18-year-old Toronto resident Christine Crooks and Juliana Pannunzio, 20, of Windsor.
In her opening address to the jury, assistant Crown attorney Jody Ostapiw had said Bahler’s 911 call and subsequent statement to police were “riddled with lies and omissions.”
