Avon Lake – The towers at Bleser Park are no more. After more than three decades standing majestically in the park, construction crews dealt the wooden towers their final bow last week after officials deemed the towers unsafe. The initial plan with the Bleser Park remodel was to keep the towers as an homage to the past, but now it appears visitors will simply have to cling to childhood memories.

According to Avon Lake Parks and Recreation Director Erin Fach, the construction crew was actually in the process of reconditioning the towers and reinforcing them that they realized they simply were no longer salvageable, particularly long term. He said the towers were rather wobbly and regardless of any reinforcement, there’s just no good long term solution to save them.
