Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is officially out for LSU’s Week 12 matchup with Arkansas.
On Thursday, interim coach Frank Wilson said that Nussmeier aggravated his abdominal injury in practice. The Tigers listed him as probable to play on Thursday, then downgraded him to questionable on Friday before ruling him out officially on Saturday shortly before kickoff (11:45 a.m., SEC Network).
Sophomore Michael Van Buren will now start in place of Nussmeier. Last year, as a true freshman, he started eight games at Mississippi State.
