BATON ROUGE — LSU football senior quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has officially been ruled out versus Arkansas on Saturday ( 11:45 a.m. CT, SEC Network ).
As late as Friday night, Nussmeier was listed as "questionable" to play inside Tiger Stadium in LSU's final Southeastern Conference home game of the 2025 season as he's battling an abdominal injury he reaggravated in practice Thursday. The LSU quarterback is listed as "out" on LSU's final injury report released before kickoff against the Razorbacks.
Nussmeier sitting means sophomore Michael Van Buren will get his first start this year. Van Buren is no stranger to starting SEC games as he started eight last season as a freshman at Mississippi State. WHO IS MICHAEL VAN BUREN?
