Sara Cox has revealed she "can't wait" after announcing her new role following her Children in Need challenge.

The Radio 2 DJ finished a Great Northern marathon quest this week, covering 135 miles on foot across four counties - Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire - the equivalent of five marathons over five days.

She ran, jogged and walked across vast moorlands, demanding ridges and the rolling countryside of northern England, supported by local communities, villages and Radio 2 listeners throughout her journey.

Sara embarked on the final stretch of her challenge on Friday morning (November 14), carrying Pudsey bear to the town of Pudsey.
