NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Monsignor Farrell’s defense had no answer for Iona Prep’s high-powered offense as the Lions suffered a 42-6 loss to the Gaels in the CHSFL AAA title game Saturday morning on the road.
Farrell entered the game as the No. 3 seed and was looking to pull off the upset of top-seeded and unbeaten Iona Prep, but it wasn’t meant to be.
“Give Iona all of the credit,” said Farrell head coach Ted Parnese, whose Lions also dropped a 48-18 decision to IP during the regular season. “They suffocate you. Before you even settle in, they are up 21-0. They use every inch of the field and capitalize on every mistake.”
