Shillong, Nov 15 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi digitally laid the foundation stone for construction of Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Chopapara village under Zikzak C&RD Block in South West Garo Hills district today.
During his visit to Gujarat on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, the Prime Minister virtually inaugurated 42 Eklavya Model Residential Schools worth Rs.1,900 crores and laid the foundation stone for construction of 50 new EMRS worth over Rs.2,320 crore from Dediapada town in Narmada district of Gujarat, with Chopapara being one of them.
The virtual foundation stone laying ceremony was attended through a video conferencing at DRDA conference hall, Ampati by officials of the state government.
