Berry College in Rome, Georgia is conducting prescribed burns on campus this month.

Berry College students participate in prescribed, controlled burns

The Berry Land Resources and Environmental Sciences Department's "Learn and Burn" session took place between their main and mountain campuses. The Georgia Forestry Commission and The Nature Conservancy were also on hand.

Zachary Taylor, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Environmental Science and Studies, said they are burning very small units to prepare for future tree planting on site.
