YORK — A restaurant in the Tabb area sustained “significant damage” after catching fire Saturday morning, fire officials said.

The York County Department of Fire and Life Safety reports no injuries. Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 9:20 a.m. to a Panda Express at 5009 Victory Boulevard and were met by heavy smoke and flames.

Firefighters attacked the blaze from both inside and outside the building with assistance from the Newport News Fire Department and Langley Air Force Base Fire Department. The flames were fully extinguished by 10:28 a.m.

The restaurant was not open when the fire began, fire officials said, and its cause is under investigation.

Public records indicate the building was 2,650 square feet and valued at $676,300, according to the most recent assessment. The
