A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Saturday at 2:56 p.m. for scattered thunderstorms until 5 p.m. for Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Madison, Cortland and Chenango counties.
"Showers with a few embedded thunderstorms will move from the northern Finger Lakes into the Greater Syracuse area between 3 and 5 pm. A storm or two could contain small hail and frequent lightning. The thunderstorm activity will move off to the north and east after 5 pm," states the weather service.
