A much-loved café is to close after 12 years serving people in the city centre - but the owners say it's not goodbye.
Scotland’s first bubble tea café, Tempo Tea Bar, has announced that its flagship store on Queen Street will close its doors before Christmas.
Founded in 2013 by siblings May Gem and Liam Tan, Tempo Tea Bar introduced Glasgow to bubble tea long before it became a mainstream trend. What began as a small independent shop sharing a slice of their childhood and culture quickly grew into a beloved local brand known for its creativity, health-conscious recipes, and community spirit.
“When my brother and I first opened Tempo, we just wanted to share our love for bubble tea and a piece of our culture,” said May Gem, founder of Tempo Tea Bar.
