TRUMBULL COUNTY, Ohio — Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting a man in the roadway brandishing a firearm Friday evening in the 1300 block of State Route 534 in Southington Township.
According to the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, officers from the sheriff’s department and the Braceville Police Department approached the armed individual after arriving on scene. Shots were fired and the suspect was struck. He was transported to a hospital in Portage County, where he later died.
No officers were injured during the incident. The Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) is leading the investigation. Authorities said additional details may be released as the inquiry continues.
The identity of the man has not been revealed at this time.
