Jay Lane announces bid for NC Senate District 1 seat

Another candidate has announced he is running for the District 1 seat in the North Carolina Senate next year. That district is currently represented by Bobby Hanig, but it opened up when Hanig announced his intention to run for First District seat in the U.S. Congress in 2026.

Last week Retired Superior Court Judge Jerry Tillett announced his candidacy for Hanig’s District 1 seat in the NC Senate.

NC Senate District 1 includes Bertie, Camden, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, and Tyrrell counties.
