GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Gainesville’s downtown has turned into a masterpiece, with not just the art festival drawing attention. Long-time Gainesville resident and artist Jim Wilson received the key to the city.

Jim Wilson is a local artist whose passion for wildlife has drawn not only art lovers but also anyone who likes nature and wildlife.

Wilson shares that he first got into art by doodling, but what began as a casual interest has evolved into a career .

“Well, it worked out very well, even though it was by accident, it wasn’t my intent,” said Wilson.

While his journey may have started unexpectedly, it has certainly paid off. Jim is now a recognized artist, living and creating his work right in Gainesville.
