CHICAGO – Michigan football overcame a flurry of turnovers Saturday to chalk a 24-22 road win over a scrappy Northwestern team on a Dominic Zvada field goal.
Freshman receiver Andrew Marsh had a career day, with 12 receptions for 189 yards. Quarterback Bryce Underwood completed 21 of his 32 passes for a career-high 280 yards.
Zvada missed wide right on a pair of field goals before nailing the game winner with 2 seconds on the clock. Teammates hoisted him into the air, carrying him across the field and into the stands.
The game was one of two that Northwestern played at Wrigley while the team’s new stadium is under construction. The Wildcats will also host Minnesota in the friendly confines on Saturday, Nov. 22.
Michigan will hit the road again next week, Nov. 22, to play Maryland.
