Texas quarterback Arch Manning (16) is tackled by Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker (11) during their game at Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium.

As the 2025 college football regular season enters its final weeks, two of the best teams in arguably the best conference in the sport will square off.

Between the famed hedges of Sanford Stadium, No. 5 Georgia will host No. 10 Texas in a game with significant SEC championship and College Football Playoff ramifications.

It will be the third matchup between the Bulldogs and Longhorns in the past 13 months, with Georgia winning each of the previous two — a 30-15 victory in October 2024 and a thrilling 22-19 overtime win in the SEC championship game in Atlanta last December.

Since an underwhelming 3-2 start to the season, Texas has reeled off four consecutive wins to get back into the top 10 of the US LBM Coaches Poll. Perhaps most encouragingly, quarterback Arch Manning has started to look the part of a former No. 1 overall recruit, throwing for 674 yards, six touchdowns and just one interception in his past two games.

The Longhorns will face a slightly more daunting challenge against Georgia, which has won its past five games since a Sept. 27 loss to Alabama. Quarterback Gunner Stockton has impressed in his first season as a starter, with 2,040 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions, along with 321 rushing yards and seven scores.

Prediction: Texas 27, Georgia 26

This game will be the biggest test of whether Manning truly has turned a corner in what had previously been a disappointing season. Against a Georgia defense that has given up a fair amount of points the past few games, he'll earn a signature win and get Texas that much closer to their playoff dreams.
