The Boston Red Sox need to make a decision on how they address Kristian Campbell this offseason.

Campbell burst into the majors this season with a strong showing in the first two months of the season. The 23-year-old performed so well to begin the season that the Red Sox gave him an eight-year extension worth $60 million, according to Spotrac. After April, however, Campbell struggled and was sent down to the minors after his extended slump.

While speaking at the general managers meeting earlier this week, Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow addressed 2026 plans for Campbell, including a potential position change, as transcribed by MassLive's Chris Cotillo.
