SCOTTS MILLS, Ore. — A wanted man was taken into custody on Friday following an hours-long standoff that prompted a SWAT response, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched just after 10:00 p.m. on Thursday to the area of 2nd Street and C Street after it was reported that a suspect who was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants was inside a residence.

The sheriff's office said he refused to come out and surrender when deputies arrived. SWAT officers and crisis negotiators were called to the scene. They attempted for several hours to communicate with the suspect, but they say he refused to cooperate and would not engage in negotiations.
