In the team’s first ever trip to the state championship game, Amity came away with a dramatic victory.

In a decisive 4-1 penalty kick shootout, Amity picked up a 2-1 victory over top-seeded Valley Catholic on Saturday at Liberty High School for the Class 3A/2A/1A girls soccer state championship.

Amity started the game off quickly. In the seventh minute, Haley Miersma kicked one off her right foot and connected to the top right of the goal.
