The National Weather Service issued a report at 8:07 p.m. on Saturday for thunderstorms and small hail until 8:45 p.m. for Orange and Putnam counties.
The storms are packing pea-sized hail (0.25 inches).
"At 8:06 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a thunderstorm producing small hail near Montgomery, or near Walden, moving east at 55 mph," says the weather service. "Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible."
Expect thunderstorms and small hail in the following locations:
Newburgh and New Windsor around 8:10 p.m.
Cold Spring and Fahnestock State Park around 8:20 p.m.
Lake Carmel and Carmel around 8:30 p.m.
Brewster around 8:35 p.m.
The weather service states, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building."
