MAINE, USA — Standish couple Jenny and Chris Hamilton thought they knew exactly how their wedding story would go. They got engaged on a carnival cruise ship, and Jenny had her heart set on getting married on one too.

So the couple planned a Caribbean cruise wedding, inviting friends and family.

“We booked this two years ago and invited anyone that wanted to come. Ended up with about 30 people,” Chris said.

The wedding party gathered in Miami last weekend for an eight-day trip to Aruba. But on the eve of the cruise, everything changed.

“All of a sudden that day, I couldn't breathe,” Chris said.

The two to-be newlyweds rushed to the nearest hospital, and Chris was quickly transferred to another facility.

“It was maybe only two miles away, and that was the longest two-mile drive,” Jenny
