Logan County, W.Va . (WSAZ) - Over a week after a forest fire started, crews are still working on containing the fire.

The Cora Volunteer Fire Department said with how windy it’s been there is still a chance for the fire to spread.

“Right now, it’s mainly during the daytime, when we have dryer conditions, and the winds kick up,” said Tyler Browning with the Cora Volunteer Fire Department. ”But what we’ve seen in the last two nights, is once the dew starts falling and the moister comes back in... it’s not until the next day.”

Browning telling us what’s unusual about this fire.

“It’s not like continuous. It hasn’t continually burned. We haven’t been out on continuous calls around the clock with it like we were last year,” Browning said.
