Former president of the University of Virginia, Jim Ryan, is getting involved in the debate over finding his successor.

Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger wants board members to pause the search for its 10th president.

But current governor, Glenn Youngkin, is pushing back.

Youngkin and Spanberger are at odds when it comes to finding a new president for the University of Virginia.

Over the past week an exchange of letters with strong rhetoric has some concerned about the upcoming gubernatorial transition.

Three days ago, Spanberger sent a letter to the UVA board of visitors, asking that it pause its search for its 10th president until a full board can be appointed and confirmed by the Virginia general assembly after her inauguration in January.
