SHREVEPORT, La. - The Volunteers for Youth Justice CASA Program is asking for community support to help bring Christmas cheer to children in foster care across Caddo and Bossier parishes.

Each year, Court Appointed Special Advocates collect Christmas wish lists from local foster children and work with volunteers to make those wishes come true. This season, more than 300 children submitted personalized lists with items ranging from dolls and bikes to warm coats and art supplies.

CASA outreach and training coordinator, Bersheika Player-Harris, says the goal is simple: to remind children who’ve experienced abuse or neglect that they are loved and not forgotten. But about 50 wish lists still need sponsors.
