Palisade trailed Timnath by ten points, 24-14, with just five minutes remaining in regulation of Saturday’s first-round game in the 3A State football tournament. They ultimately won the contest in regulation, 27-24.
What happened in between was a tour de force by a Palisade team possessed and outright refusing to allow their season to end in the first round of the state tournament for the second straight year.
“Well, that was as exciting as you can get,” Palisade head coach Joe Ramunno said postgame.
