All of the Griffins top eight runners returned, yet the defending state champions were pushed to the limit by Arizona’s most legendary small school distance runners from Hopi High School.

A team’s five best runners determine the final the score – the lower the better – and all of the top five runners for Glendale Prep and Hopi placed in the top 19. Hopi led the race after one mile, but Glendale Prep reeled the Bruins in during the finals to win with 34 points compared to Hopi’s 47.
