The Spirit of Adventure has recently completed five years of service for Saga Cruises after being delivered on Sep. 29, 2020.
As the second newbuild ever ordered by the UK-based company, the vessel was constructed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.
The 999-guest ship was initially scheduled to enter service for Saga in August 2020, but plans had to be postponed due to construction delays and the Covid-19 pandemic .
As a result, the Spirit of Adventure spent nearly one year in layup before welcoming its first guests on July 26, 2021.
A few days earlier, the 55,900-ton ship was christened at a special ceremony at the British port of Portsmouth .
