FARGO — Throughout the year, the local chapter of the nonprofit organization Lasagna Love prepares and distributes about 12 to 30 lasagna meals a week to families in need across North Dakota.
This holiday season, Lasagna Love hopes to assemble and distribute more than 60 meals on Wednesday, Nov. 26, the day before Thanksgiving.
"Right now, with everything going on, I have seen a huge increase in requests for lasagna," said Chamonix Brandt, Lasagna Love's state director for North Dakota.
"We have a lot of people who are hungry and really scared they don't know where their next meal is going to come from," Brandt said, noting: "It's people you wouldn't necessarily expect."
Brandt said the organization is in need of additional volunteers for the upcoming push planned for Nov. 26.
