The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has confirmed that the Red Fort area blast was carried out using a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) driven by suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi, as the agency announced a major breakthrough with the arrest of his alleged aide.
The NIA has arrested Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, who allegedly conspired with the bomber to execute the attack that killed 13 people and injured over 30 on November 10. The car used in the blast was registered in Amir’s name, and investigators say he had travelled to Delhi to help purchase the vehicle before it was turned into a vehicle borne-IED.
