SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Near normal temperatures settle in on the Suncoast. The week ahead will take us a few degrees above average. By the end of the month, our average high drops to 77°. A La Nina weather pattern is finally developing, which tends to give us above normal temps and, unfortunately, below average rain through the Winter months.
Winds are light and variable for several days. A westerly breeze on Sunday could cool us down a few degrees with air coming off the cooler Gulf waters. Water temps have dropped to the 60s at many beaches.
Beach conditions are cool in the mornings, seasonal in the afternoons. Winds are Westerly at 5 to 10 mph on Sunday. Rip current risk is low with this wind, but always check the flags at lifeguard stations. Water temps have dropped to 68° at Manate
