Fire crews are working to contain a blaze which broke out on Sunday morning at a decommissioned power plant in the Bacliff area of Galveston County, Texas .

The news was first reported by the Texas-based CBS-affiliated station KHOU. The Kemah Police Department said the fire is at the PHR Peakers Plant along Highway 146.

According to KHOU, authorities say no one was supposed to be on-site at the plant, given it has been shut down for some time, and that no injuries have been recorded as a result of the fire.

Multiple local fire departments responded to the scene, with crews working to keep the flames from spreading to nearby brush. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

This is a developing story. More to follow.
