One person is dead and another remains hospitalized after they were struck by a driver in West Chicago Saturday.

At approximately 1:32 p.m., West Chicago police responded to the intersection of Main Street and Washington Street for reports of a collision.

Officers on the scene administered aid to two pedestrians that had been struck in the collision and both were rushed to area hospitals, police said.

One of the pedestrians later died from their injuries, and the other remains hospitalized Sunday, police said.

The driver is cooperating with investigators, and the name of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of family members.
