The Montreal Canadiens will be without a solid forward for an extended period of time.

Kirby Dach has been ruled out for four to six weeks with a fractured foot, the Canadiens announced on Sunday.

The 24-year-old has five goals and two assists in 15 games played this season.

Dach has often been injured in recent seasons, undergoing two knee surgeries in the span of three years.

Selected third overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2019, Dach tore his ACL and MCL and missed all but two games in 2023-24, then missed the 25 games in 2024-25 after another serious knee injury.

The Canadiens recalled forward Joshua Roy from the Laval Rocket in a corresponding move.
