Kris Boyd, a cornerback for the New York Jets who spent part of the 2023 season with the Arizona Cardinals , was shot in Manhattan early on Nov. 16 and was in critical condition, according to multiple reports.

Boyd, 29, was shot at around 2 a.m. on West 38 th street in Midtown, according to the New York Police Department, and was taken to Bellevue Hospital. There were no immediate arrests, but police said they are looking for a man who fled in a blue BMW in connection to the shooting.

Boyd, who appeared in four games with the Cardinals two years ago, began his career with the Minnesota Vikings and spent part of the past two seasons with the Houston Texans . He signed a one-year deal with the Jets in March but has been on injured reserve since Aug. 18.
