Elderly drivers are as cocky and dangerous behind the wheel as their younger boy racer counterparts, a new report claims. ‌

Some 97% of UK motorists aged 80 or over reported feeling confident on the road - the highest number from any age group. ‌

While official data shows drivers aged 70-plus accounted for over a fifth of all UK road deaths last year, matching the fatal collision rate among those aged 17 to 29. ‌
