Speed cameras have been a fixture on British roads for more than 30 years now.
First appearing in 1992, cameras have become a mainstay in drivers’ minds . Most motorists will know where speed cameras are on their regular routes , but few in Greater Manchester will fully understand the reach the cameras have.
More than 250 traffic cameras have been installed in Greater Manchester, and there are hundreds more 'mobile locations' where the police can enforce the limits temporarily.
