Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin is entering the final two games of the regular season in a two-way race for the Heisman Trophy, along with Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
Despite Carnell Tate being out and Jeremiah Smith exiting early, Sayin led the Buckeyes past UCLA on Nov. 16 with a 27-point first half. He completed 18 of 21 passes for 147 passing yards and a touchdown. With a comfortable lead, he tampered off and the run game took over. Though Sayin did not make costly mistakes against the Bruins , Mendoza continued to make the race competitive. He threw for 299 passing yards and four touchdowns in a 31-7 win over Wisconsin. This, of course, came one week after Medoza had what many called a "Heisma
