New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd, 29, was shot early Sunday morning and is in critical but stable condition in the hospital, police told ESPN and other news outlets.
A New York Police Department spokesperson told ESPN the shooting happened around 2 a.m. at the Sei Less restaurant on West 38th Street in New York City. Sources told the New York Post that Boyd was shot after a dispute turned violent.
The gunman fired two shots, then fled the scene, according to the New York Post’s sources .
Boyd was transported to Manhattan’s Bellevue Hospital by EMS, police told ESPN. No arrests have been made in the shooting, police told the New York Times .
A Jets spokesperson told ESPN and other news outlets the team was aware of the situation but had no further comment.
