YORK, Neb. (KOLN) - A 20-year-old man was arrested Sunday after admitting to setting merchandise on fire inside a Walmart, police said.
York Police responded to a report of arson at a Walmart located at 101 W. David Dr. at approximately 11:26 a.m. Officers found a man who admitted to starting the fire, according to police.
The preliminary investigation showed the suspect entered the store intending to start a fire. He used items inside the store to ignite merchandise before leaving the area, police said.
Officers arrested the man shortly after and booked him into York County Corrections.
The store remains closed while investigators process evidence at the active crime scene. It will reopen as soon as possible. Police asked for the public’s patience and cooperation during the investigat
