The Los Angeles Lakers are among the NBA teams that have been asked to surrender documents and other property following the arrests of a coach, player, and former player last month.
Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, and former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Damon Jones were all arrested as part of an FBI investigation into illegal sports betting and rigged poker games.
Jones, a known associate and former teammate of LeBron James who worked as a shooting coach with the four-time champion and had special access to the Lakers, is accused of passing on information regarding the player’s availability for gambling purposes.
