Officials are expected to vote Monday night on an ordinance to ban any child under 16 from operating a motorized scooter on a public road, sidewalk or path, and to prohibit any scooter rider from exceeding 20 mph, riding after dark, riding dangerously, carrying passengers or riding without a helmet.
