ELBERFELD, Ind. (WFIE) - The Elberfeld Police Department has opened the doors on its new facility.
An event was held Sunday to give the public a chance to check out the new building.
Officials say for many years, the Elberfeld Police Department was located at the rear of the town garage, on the 2nd floor, which was not accessible to the public.
In 2024, the Town of Elberfeld was awarded grant money that could be used for the new police department, and the decision was made to remodel the town garage.
The Marshal of the Elberfeld Police Department, Lloyd Jones, says “I operate the Elberfeld Police Department with the belief, “Community First, Always” and have included this as a reminder on the front of the building."
The building is on North 2nd Street.
