MACON, Ga. — We're approaching the most wonderful time of the year, and Central Georgia dancers are lacing up their ballet slippers as they prepare to celebrate 40 years of The Nutcracker of Middle Georgia.
The ensemble will put on five performances next month at the Piedmont Grand Opera House, starting Dec. 10.
Gray Griffin is from Macon, and she's playing the role of Clara. She has been dancing since she was three years old and this is her seventh year performing in The Nutcracker.
“I'm so excited," she said. "When I found out I was gonna be Clara, I was just so excited — screaming and jumping around.
She said it's been a lot of fun so far.
"Whenever I'm in rehearsal, I just can't stop smiling because it's so much fun and I love it,” she said.
Performances are Dec. 10, 11 and 12
