SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A well-known bar downtown hosted a fundraiser supporting local Rangers on Sunday.

McDonough’s held its first annual Sua Sponte Foundation fundraiser, raising funds to support the warriors and families of the First Ranger Battalion. The organization consists of all volunteer veteran Rangers and supporters.

Both floors of the bar were packed Sunday afternoon with community members enjoying drinks, raffles, prize drawings and merchandise for sale.

“The foundation itself is for the Sua Sponte foundation. It has to deal with the first ranger battalion here in Savannah as well as all ranger groups overall through-out the entire nation,” said Joseph Lee, co-owner of McDonough’s. “The event itself has been going on for five years now, over $40 or $50,000 dollars raised
