WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - Williston’s Assistant Fire Chief Corey Johnson said he held a meeting with staff Sunday afternoon to talk about Fire Chief Matt Clark’s sudden retirement.
On Thursday, Clark emailed his staff to inform them he intended to retire at the end of the year.
A day later, city leaders decided to make it immediate so they could start the transition process.
Johnson said he wanted to meet with everyone to answer any questions that staff may have had.
He has not heard from the city yet and plans to meet with officials Monday.
