EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - No. 24 Michigan State women’s basketball blew out Western Michigan 98-44 at the Breslin Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Spartans jumped out to an 18-0 lead in the game’s first four minutes and never looked back from there, outscoring Western 31-5 in the first quarter and 33-7 in the third to cruise to a 98-44 win.
Spartans’ redshirt senior forward Isaline Alexander led all scorers with a career-best 20 points while hitting all nine of her shots from the floor. Grace VanSlooten had 19 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks. Kennedy Blair had 14 points, eight rebounds, a team-high eight assists, and three steals.
MSU improved to 4-0 and will next take on Eastern Illinois at the Breslin Center on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
